AALEAD Mentors build a friendship with an AALEAD youth in need of a positive role model and help them develop the academic and life skills necessary to succeed. This is a unique opportunity to develop and enhance a young person’s awareness of and belief in their own potential. This highly successful program has been described by both mentors and mentees as a life-changing, deeply rewarding experience.
Mentors spend a minimum of 6 hours per month with their mentee and commit to the mentoring relationship for at least 1 year. Scheduling is flexible as mentors and mentees choose activities and times according to their respective availability. There is no foreign language requirement to becoming a mentor, just the desire to make a difference in a young person’s life.
