Letter from the Director

Dear AALEAD Family,

I write this letter to you, past and current youth, donors, supporters, and staff, to express my excitement as I embark on this journey as the new Executive Director of Asian American LEAD. I am honored and humbled to have been selected by AALEAD’s Board to follow in the visionary footsteps of our previous executive directors: Sandy Dang, Rosetta Lai, and Surjeet Ahluwalia.

It is through the commitment and efforts of all of you that we are the only organization in the DC Metro area supporting 550 low-income and underserved Asian Pacific American youth.

I first connected to AALEAD as a mentor. Fifteen years later, as I take on the role of ED, I will work collaboratively to advance AALEAD’s mission by putting our youth first. I plan to strengthen our research-based programs and am committed to our organizational sustainability to meet the needs of all low-income and underserved Asian Pacific American youth.

I look forward to working with you as we continue to support our youth to make informed decisions about their education, personal passions, and interests; take on leadership positions in their community; and develop healthy self-concepts to lead productive lives.

Sincerely,

AALEAD ED Neel Saxena
