January is National Mentoring Month and I want to thank all of AALEAD’s past and present mentors for your commitment to our young people. To everyone who is a mentor – with AALEAD or otherwise, thank you for giving of your personal time and energy to make a real difference in a young person’s life. Not everyone is lucky enough to be born with a strong support system. Mentors make the difference for young people who need extra support and deserve to have opportunities to succeed.
I have had the pleasure to get to know some of AALEAD’s mentors and to see the deep commitment they have to their mentees. You can read Tippa’s story here. And congratulations to Jessica for being AALEAD’s mentor of the year!
Thank you to Tina, AALEAD’s Mentoring & Volunteer Coordinator, for facilitating smooth and meaningful volunteer experiences all year round. If you are interested in having an impact through mentoring, please contact Tina here!
