Andrew Brown

Andrew Brown is the Grants and Collaborative Projects Manager for the Community Adaptation Program at the American Red Cross. In his capacity, Andrew is responsible for moving resources from the Red Cross, in the form of monetary grants, equipment, and other services, to hyper-local community nonprofits in jurisdictions that have been hit the hardest by the effects of climate change. Previously, Andrew was the grants manager at the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation.

Andrew also serves on the steering committee of the Greater Washington, DC regional chapter of PEAK Grant-making—a vibrant member-led community of professionals who specialize in grants management for funding organizations who seek to advance equitable, effective grantmaking practices.

Born and raised in Alexandria, VA, Andrew takes pride in the deep roots he has established in the region and is committed to applying his knowledge of the regional landscape to help AALEAD move forward in its work. Outside of work and volunteering, he enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, camping, cycling, and kayaking. He also enjoys playing guitar and creating music. Andrew lives in Woodbridge, VA, with his wife and three children.
