Armand Cuevas (he/him) is the DC Project Coordinator for Youth Council. Although this is his first year at AALEAD, he has been working with youth for many years. Armand has over 14 years of experience as an educator, 9 of which were here in DC through DC public schools and charter schools. Within the past 2 years, he was a teacher at Jackson Reed, and he supported and led the Asian Student Union, Filipino Club, Arab Student Union, and after-school AALEAD programming.

Outside of AALEAD, Armand is a local grassroots community organizer, working alongside the Filipino American community on both local and national issues, as well as fighting for genuine societal change in his homeland of the Philippines.

In his free time, he also likes to lift weights, play basketball and tennis, dance, eat lots of good food, keep the house clean, and stay up to date on what is going on in the world.
