Dr. Rajan Natarajan

Dr. Rajan Natarajan is a global business executive, tech entrepreneur, and public servant with extensive experience across multiple sectors, including biotech, healthcare, information technology, government policies, and diplomacy. He has served as the Deputy Secretary of State in Maryland and as the Commissioner of Transportation. Recognized for his leadership, Dr. Natarajan was named the U.S. SBA Small Business Person of the Year and Most Admired CEO in 2024. He has been a member of the University of Maryland Board of Visitors since 2015.

As the Founder and Chairman of Global Alliant, Inc., a high-tech firm, Dr. Natarajan focuses on driving digital transformation, RPA/AI/ML, IT modernization, managed and shared IT services, and delivering process efficiencies and accuracies. He is a business and technology innovator, political appointee, diplomat, and expert in healthcare and life sciences, bringing over 25 years of public and private sector experience in senior executive roles, as well as serving as a board and advisory member for several non-profit and public sector organizations.

Dr. Natarajan is an alumnus of the Broad School of Business Management at Michigan State University. He holds two master's degrees and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, along with an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Marketing.

His board and committee memberships include Chairman and Founder of Global Alliant, Inc.; Board of Visitors at the University of Maryland; Board Member of the Maryland Cyber Security Council; Founder of global non-profit think tanks GLORI and GAIN-Global Alliant Innovators Network; Vice Chairman of the US India SME Council; Board Member of the Maryland Chambers of Commerce; Board Member of the Asian Pacific American Chambers of Commerce; and the Governor’s Economic Advisory Council in Maryland. He also serves on the Executive Board of Directors of AALEAD and the Executive Board of the Maryland Cyber Security Council.
