Celebrating International Women's Day

Asian American LEAD (AALEAD) celebrated International Women’s Day with an inspiring evening centered on this year’s theme, “Give To Get.” Speakers Jocelyn Hong (Principal, Jocelyn Hong and Associates, LLC) and Tina Cooper (Founder & CEO, Lumenerva) shared insights on AAPI women in the workplace, family, identity, and staying true to yourself, sparking meaningful conversations. Attendees asked powerful questions about how women are treated professionally, highlighting the need to be seen, heard, and confident in representing ourselves. The event reminded us that uplifting women strengthens not only individuals but our entire community.

“I attended AALEAD’s annual International Women’s Day event, and the overwhelming number of attendees’ questions were based on how women are treated in the workplace and in general as professionals. It tells me that we are not heard and seen loud enough, we are not confident enough to represent ourselves, and we need to be able to speak our words loudly and proudly.” - AALEAD Manager
