Sandy Dang – Founder

Sandy Dang is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF). Prior to joining VEF, she was the co-founder and principal of 11plus Philanthropy, a company that provides leadership training to nonprofit leaders. For a decade, she was the founder and Executive Director of Asian American Leadership, Empowerment, and Development (AALEAD), an organization that supports immigrant and refugee families through a broad array of educational and social services, including academic enrichment, one-on-one mentoring, leadership training, and family support services.
In 2011, Ms. Dang was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Education Foundation. In addition, she is currently serving on the Community Advisory Board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the Community Advisory Council for WETA Television. She was selected as one of the 12 Washingtonians of the Year 2001. She also holds a BA from Duke University, a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, and a Masters in Social Work from Catholic University.
